The history of the formation of the trust and the construction of the Matha was nothing less than a miracle. It was a divine anugraha of Sri Rayaru.
In 1990, likeminded residents formed an association called Akhila Bharatiya Madhwa Mandali Branch, R T Nagar, under the banner of Poornapragna Vidyapeetha Bangalore. Every Thursday there would be Bhajana programme organised by Late Sri K.B. Krishnamurthy at Sri Gopalakrishna’s house on 1st floor. All the members were devotees of Sri Rayaru wanted to construct a matha for Sri Raghavendra Swamy at R T Nagar. All members tried approaching BDA with the leadership of Sri R.R.Kashyap to get a suitable site for the temple premises. In 1997, the members went to Mulabagal to seek blessings of the Sripadangalu of Sripadaraja Matha. To the surprise of everyone present there, Sri Vignananidhi Theertharu said that shankusthapane for Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha building at R T Nagar will be done tomorrow itself, as Srigalu already had an invitation to do a Shankusthapane for a Matha at R T Nagar. Sri.Jayaram,(Ex-corporator) and his 2 sons - Sri Kumar and Sri Manjunath had already gone to Sri Vignananidhi Tirtharu to seek their blessings for constructing a Matha at R T Nagar.
At this point, Swamiji suggested Si Jayaram to construct the Matha and hand over the responsibility of to the members of Akhila Bharatiya Madhwa Mandali Branch, R T Nagar. Everyone accepted the offer. As was the mercy of Sri Rayaru, Blessings of Sri Vignananidhi Theertharu and desire of the members, Shankusthapana for Sri Raghavendra Swamy matha was conducted the very next day. The occasion was graced by his holiness Sri Vignananidhi Theerthru of Sripadaraja Matha, Mulbagal.
In about 8 months the building was ready and Sri Vignananidhi Theerthru took initiative of inaugurating the Matha. He arranged for Rayara Mrutthika from Moola Brindavan of Mantralaya through the then Peethadipathi H H Sri Sushameendra Theertharu of Mantralaya, and gathered all the necessary paraphenalia.
On Maagha Shuddha Dashami, Dwadashi and Trayodashi, Dated 9/2/1998, Pratistapane of Sri Rama,Sri Sita Mata along with Sri Lakshmana,Sri Anjaneya & Sri Rayara Mrutthika Brindavana was done by Sri Sri Vignananidhi Theertha Swamiji in the presence of a large devotees gathered. All the proceedings went on well by the mercy of Sri Rayaru
for the maintainance of the Sri Matha, a trust was formed – SRI GURU RAGHAVENDRA SEVA SAMITHI TRUST (REGD).

Gnana yajna is conducted regularly at the matha through Pravachanas/Lectures by eminent scholars
Every year Rayara Aradhana programme is celebrated in the presence of various dignitories of the Madhwa Samaja and a large number of devotees from various parts of the city. Santarpana seva of feeding the poor is done every year.Year on year, Sri Muatha is witnessing a significant increase in the number of devotees visiting the matha during various occasions.
It is to be noted that Sri Shanaishara Deva temple is present right next to Sri Matha, in a beautifully constructed temple. A large number of devotees also come to the temple every saturday to seek blessings of SRI Shaniashara Deva and Sri Rayaru. The Shanaishara Temple is running under the able leadership of Sri.Kumar and Sri.Manjunath.
Rayaru at R T Nagar has showered His Anugraha to His devotees at various occasions. There are ample instances of Sri Rayaru's Anugraha like marriage, employment, santhana bhagya etc..The Matha has a team of youngsters as Standby for any voluntary service of the matha. There are about 30 members out of which 12 Members are active to support the Matha at any given point of time.The Team is under the Banner and Name called as Associate Life Members and in short ALM. Due to the achievment of Trustees,new trustees who are young energetic,service minded have been inducted selected from ALM which is a Healthy sign for the Matha having such youngsters to stand by them. So every time an old trustee retires the New one is inducted from ALM members.
